Hi Gary, I thought I would post my question here as I did not really have a good place on your site to post it to.
I’ve been searching the net to try to understand the “overriding the render service” ability, and although I have found many examples, I’m still confused by the urlSpec, targetURL, workspace-enable service, etc.
What I am finding lacking is that although there are examples that I can steal, I really want a step-by-step explanation of each service and the input/output variables and what everything means. Do you know if there’s something available for that? Even workbench seems to be confusing.
I suffer from “can’t-sleep-if-I-don’t-know-it-completely”
Thanks in advance,
Elaine
Hi Elaine,
In fact if you save your form template as a “pdf” rather than an “xdp” then you do not need a custom render service. We did however place a render service for XDP available in Workbench I think under Samples – Forms.
We hear this a lot
Check out Seth Reilly’s blog on this subject at http://livecycleapps.wordpress.com/
Our docs also give it a mention at: http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/wb_help/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Workbench_ES&file=000989.html
I’ll also drop you an email and maybe we can look at your app over a Connect.
Cheers
Gary
